Ana Faria

She became a leading name in Portuguese children's music when, in mid-1982, she recorded the album "Brincando aos Clássicos" (Playing with the Classics), made up of adaptations of classical symphonies by famous composers such as Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, Verdi, among others. Among the special appearances by the children's choir were her three sons, Pedro, Nuno, and João Faria Gomes (who would later become famous as Queijinhos Frescos). The album was a great success. Ana Faria retired from public life to dedicate herself to painting and portraits, something she had pursued even before music, and published several children's books, with texts and illustrations of her own.
