Amanda Hocking

Born on July 12, 1984, Amanda Hocking lives in Austin, Minnesota. She began telling and writing stories at a very young age, and at 17 she finished her first novel. She studied, worked, and in her spare time continued writing frantically. She tried to sell her novels to more than 50 publishers, but without success. One day, needing money, she decided to publish them in digital format (e-book) and sell them on sites like Amazon. On the first day she sold five books. On the second, another five. Today she sells almost ten thousand a day... With online success, the madness began: several of the biggest American publishers made her million-dollar offers. She ended up signing a dream contract, selling her trilogy for two million dollars - and shortly after, a film production company acquired the film rights.
