Álvaro Garrido (1968) é Professor Catedrático da Faculdade de Economia da Universidade de Coimbra (FEUC) e seu atual Diretor. Investigador inte­grado do CEIS20, tem uma vasta obra publicada sobre temas de história da economia e das instituições, com contributos internacionais na história das pescas marítimas, história dos corporativismos e da economia social. As suas publicações encontram-se reunidas em livros, artigos científicos e capítulos de livros e textos de catálogos.
Recentemente publicou, como autor ou em coautoria, os seguintes livros: As Pescas em Portugal (Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos, Lisboa, 2018); A Economia Social em Movimento. Uma História das Organizações (Tinta da China, 2018); Too Valuable to be Lost: Overfishing in the North Atlantic since 1880 (De Gruyter, Berlim, 2020); Il Portogallo di Salazar. Politica, Società, Economia (Bologna University Press, 2020).
