Alison Belsham começou a escrever com a ambição de se tornar argumentista – em 2000, foi distinguida com o Orange Prize Screenwriting e, em 2001, foi finalista numa competição para guionistas promovida pela BBC. A Bertrand Editora publicou o seu thriller sensação, O Ladrão de Tatuagens, em 2020, um romance que a autora apresentou no Bloody Scotland Crime Writing, um dos mais prestigiados festivais dedicado à literatura policial, onde o livro foi aclamado como vencedor. Depois de O Último Fôlego, chega agora O Embalsamador.
