He is an ICREA research professor in the Department of Systems Bioengineering at Pompeu Fabra UniversityHe is based in Barcelona and was previously a professor of Developmental Mechanics at the University of Cambridge. For his contributions to developmental biology, he received the Medal Waddington from the British Society for Developmental Biology and the Career Award of Society of Spanish Researchers in the United KingdomAs co-author of Development Principles with Lewis Wolpert Cheryll Tickle, received the Undergraduate Textbook Prize from the Royal Society of Biology.
