Alexandre Castro Caldas é Professor Catedrático de Neurologia e Diretor do Instituto de Ciências da Saúde da Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
Foi até 2004 Professor da Faculdade de Medicina de Lisboa.
Dedica-se fundamentalmente ao estudo das Neurociências Cognitivas sendo autor de 7 livros e mais de duzentos artigos e capítulos sobre estes temas.
Foi Presidente da International Neuropsychological Society que em 2009 lhe atribuiu o Distinguished Career Award.
Entre outros prémios recebidos em Portugal para o trabalho científico destaca-se o grande prémio Bial de Medicina em 2002.
