Alexandra Popoff
Alexandra Popoff was born and raised in Moscow. A journalist and writer, she published her work in Russian newspapers and magazines. In 1991, as a fellow of the Alfred Friendly Press, she began writing for the Philadelphia Inquirer. After marrying a Canadian journalist in 1992, she settled in Saskatchewan, where the Russian Doukhobores, ancestors of her husband, had initially emigrated. Popoff completed several postgraduate degrees in Literature, both in Moscow and in Toronto and Saskatchewan.
