Alejandro Zambra
Alejandro Zambra was born in 1975 in Santiago, Chile. He is the author of the novels... Bonsai, The private life of the trees, Ways to return home, from the book of short stories My documents, finalist of Frank O'Connor International Short Story Award, and from the collections of essays Do not read and Free theme.
His novels have been translated into more than 20 languages and his writing has been published in magazines such as The New Yorker, The Paris Review, Granta, Harper's and McSweeney’sAmong the awards he has received, the two awards from the National Book Council of Chile stand out. English Pen Award, for the English edition of Ways of Returning Home, also a finalist for the Prix Médicis, the Prince Claus Award for his body of work, and also the Prize Best Literary Works 2021, in the Novel category, awarded by the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage of Chile, with Chilean poet (2020).
