Alain de Benoist

A French philosopher, political scientist, and journalist born on December 11, 1943, in Saint-Symphorien (Indre-et-Loire), he is the most recognized intellectual of the European New Right, a school of political thought founded in France in 1968 with the founding of GRECE (Group for Collection and Study for European Civilization). He remains to this day the main representative of this current of thought, although he has always personally rejected the label "New Right." He is a staunch defender of the singularity and integrity of peoples, a strong critic of globalization, multiculturalism, and neoliberalism. He has published dozens of works addressing topics such as religion, philosophy, immigration, and political theory. In 1978, he was awarded the Grand Prize for Essay by the French Academy for his book "Vou de droite" (published in Portugal under the title "Nova Direita, Nova Cultura" in 1981). He is the director of the academic publications "Nouvelle École" and "Krisis" and of the quarterly journal "Éléments".
