Ahmed Saadawi é um romancista, poeta e argumentista iraquiano, e também realizador de documentários. Em 2010 foi selecionado pelo projeto Beirut como um dos trinta e nove melhores autores árabes com menos de trinta e nove anos. Em 2014 tornou -se o primeiro iraquiano a receber o prestigiado Prémio Internacional de Ficção Árabe. A obra galardoada foi Frankenstein em Bagdade, que também recebeu Le Grand Prix de L’Imaginaire em 2017. Vive e trabalha em Bagdade.
