Adriano Moreira

Portuguese jurist, politician, and university professor, born in 1922 and deceased on October 23, 2022, at the age of 100. He held public office from a young age, becoming a prominent figure in the Estado Novo regime in the area of ​​colonial policy: he was Minister of Overseas Territories, founded and directed institutes for African studies, presided over the Lisbon Geographical Society, among other positions. After the 25th of April Revolution, he became a leading figure in the Democratic Social Centre (CDS) and a respected parliamentarian. He wrote several works, including a compendium of Political Science (1983). He retired from political life in 1995, receiving tributes from various groups. Since then, Adriano Moreira has continued to dedicate himself to teaching, research, and writing about the Portuguese political situation, international relations, and law.
