Adania Shibli
Adania Shibli was born in 1974 in Palestine.
Holding a doctorate from the University of East London, she wrote novels, plays, short stories, and narrative essays, which have been published in various anthologies, art books, and literary and cultural magazines in different languages.
She was honored twice with the A. M. Qattan Foundation Young Writer Award in Palestine: in 2001 for her novel Masaas, and in 2003 for his novel Kulluna Ba'id bi-dhat al-Miqdar 'an al-Hubb.
A Minor Detail, his most recent novel, was a finalist for National Book Prize 2020, in the Translated Literature category, and of International Booker Prize 2021.
Committed to academic research, she has been teaching since 2013 in the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Studies at Birzeit University in Palestine, dividing her time between Jerusalem and Berlin.
