Abel Soares da Rosa nasceu e vive em Lisboa no bairro de Campo de Ourique. Frequentou o Liceu Almirante Gago Coutinho (Nampula, Moçambique), o Liceu Pedro Nunes (Lisboa) e a Faculdade de Direito de Lisboa. Durante 36 anos foi Marketeer na IBM Portugal, toca guitarra (não é virtuoso...) e tem uma enorme paixão pelos Beatles, José Afonso, Van Der Graaf Generator, Wagner, Miles Davis, Rock’n’Roll, cinema, livros, jornais, por toda a música popular e a contracultura. Publicou uma série de livros (edição de autor) sobre o fenómeno dos Beatles e Rolling Stones em Portugal: - The Beatles, Discografia Portuguesa a 45 RPM (versão portuguesa, 2010 / versão inglesa, 2011); - The Rolling Stones, Discografia Portuguesa a 45 RPM (2011, com a colaboração de Jorge Nogueira e Pedro Freitas Branco); - Os Beatles Ilustrados, Os Beatles na Imprensa Portuguesa 1963-1972, (Vol. 1, 2013 / Vol. 2, 2014); - Os Beatles Populares, Os Beatles na Imprensa Portuguesa 1963-1970 – Jornais (2015).
