Nasceu em Leiria em 1973, mas foi registado como tendo nascido na Benedita.
Talvez por isso sinta não pertencer a um só lugar ou a um único tempo, reinterpretando o mundo e criando realidades alternativas através da escrita e da fotografia.
Vive uma vida dupla: na primeira é formador externo em vários centros de formação profissional da zona oeste; na segunda é autor de variadas obras literárias e fotográficas, tanto a nível individual como coletivo.
Nesta segunda encarnação recebeu já diversas distinções e galardões, dos quais se destaca o Prémio Internacional Books & Movies 2017 – Município de Alcobaça. É possível conhecer melhor o seu trabalho em www.amcatarino.com
